Time off Work….

I normally take the week after Christmas off.  I totally need that break after the busy-ness of Christmas.  Plus, it is great to be off while Austin is off school and Craig is off for their holiday shut-down.  We were able to have lots of great family time and it was wonderful to have time to get the Christmas decorations down and the house back in order!
By Thursday we were ready to get out of the house so we met Lyndi and the kids at Bounce U which is a place with lots of inflatables for kids to play on.
Addi and Connor are still a little small to go on their own so Lyndi and I got our exercise too as we accompanied them up the ladders and down the slides!

After spending a little over two hours there, we headed to the mall food court for Chic-fil-a!  YUM!

Christmas Day with the Smith’s….

We got to Lyndi’s house early to spend some time with GG who was in town for a few days!

Mom and Dad hadn’t gotten home from church yet so we passed the time playing Rook (of course)!  After a while, the kids were getting very anxious to open presents so we decided to distract them by putting them all in the bathtub to let them play!  We put them in Lyndi’s big jetted tub and they had a BLAST.  Needless to say, water was everywhere but they had a great time and it was a great distraction!

Once Mom and Dad got home, we had a big breakfast—sausage, bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, biscuits, and gravy!  That is a family tradition that we do together every year on Christmas Day and I love it!
After breakfast, the kids were READY for more presents.  We had hoped to have the kids open their gifts one at a time so that we could see what they got but that lasted for about 14 seconds!  Little ones are NOT very patient!!  As a result, I didn’t get as many pictures as I had hoped….

Addi got a teddy bear, princess sippy cup, plate, and placemat, and a doll accessory set that had a pack-n-play, high chair, stroller, and potty seat from the Mastin’s, an electronic book/learning game from Brad and Kristy, and some fairy figurines, a chalk board, and savings bonds from Grandma and Grandpa.
Austin got a UK sweatshirt and UK key chain from the Mastin’s and a Yamaha keyboard and savings bonds from Grandma and Grandpa.  He was so excited about the keyboard and has been playing quite a bit.  We are excited that he is eager to get back into piano lessons.  We hope to get those started back up soon!
He played a few tunes for us on the new keyboard and then we had to get ready to head over to the Vahle’s for Christmas dinner.
By this time, Addi was EXHAUSTED from not having a nap and almost as soon as we got in the car, she was asleep.  When we got to the Vahle’s and got her out of the car seat, she stayed asleep and slept the majority of the time we were there.  Poor baby—Christmas wore her out!!

Christmas Morning at home…

Christmas morning was so much fun!  Addison woke up at around 7, which is her normal time to wake up on the weekends (no sleeping in for us)!
Craig and I raced downstairs to the living room to get the camera ready and Austin and Addi followed to see if Santa had been to our house—and he sure had!
Addi was excited to see her new bicycle!  She ran over to it right away!  “Look Momma,” she said.  It was priceless to see her excitement!
The kids took turns opening presents…  Addi got 2 barking puppy dogs, the Radio Flyer tricycle, a shopping cart, a crying baby doll, fairy wings, a memory game, bath toys, washable markers, crayons and markers for the bathtub, a car seat for her baby doll, new Skechers, several new outfits, two pairs of pajamas, and a savings bond.
Austin got lots of clothes, a GPS for his car (we bought him a Camry—used of course—which was part of his Christmas too), new Sperrys, and a savings bond.

Precious...

After everything was opened, our living room was a complete disaster!

Addi played with her new stuff while the rest of us got ready to go to celebrate Christmas again—this time with my family.  We were meeting at 12:30 at Lyndi’s for a late breakfast and to open more presents!
