Where's Momma?

This morning Craig informed me that Addi woke up saying, “Where’s Momma at?”  Wow—that makes me sad.   I wish I could be there every morning when she wakes up to see that sweet face and messed up hair, but it was Monday morning and after 2 mornings of waking up to my sweet girl, it was time to go back to work.
This is probably on the worst parenting list, but Addi still sleeps with us.  It all started when she was 11.5 months old and got her first ear infection (which was a double ear infection) and was getting up nearly every hour through the night.  We made the bad mistake to just put her in bed with us so that when she woke up every hour, we could cuddle her and pat her back to sleep so that we could get back to sleep pronto since we both had to go to work!  After the ear infection cleared up and we put her back in her bed, it seemed like she would wake up about an hour or two after we put her down for the night so we (or was it I) would just put her in our bed to get her back to sleep.  Now we (I) just start her out in our bed at night and I must say, it is pretty nice because she usually sleeps all night and it is a great feeling to wake up in the morning to go to work after having a full night’s rest—it makes it a lot easier to get up!
Here are 2 pictures of my sweet little angel doing 2 of her favorite things--eating and trying on shoes (she's obsessed with SHOES already):

She will be my only baby and she is growing up so fast and I have to admit that I love cuddling with her at night when she falls asleep.  It is one of my favorite times because she is so sweet and wraps her sweet little arms around my neck and we usually fall asleep cheek to cheek.  I know this won’t last forever so I’m enjoying it while I can.

Pools and Parks and Sprinklers (oh my)….

This post will be jam-packed with pictures because I’ve gotten a little behind on my blogging with all of the summer activities we have been involved in.  Summer is always so much fun but so busy and goes by so fast.
We spend a lot of our free time just playing—playing at the public pool, playing at the park, playing in the back yard with the water hose, and playing with friends.  Addison is SO busy—she goes and goes and goes until she can barely hold those big blue eyes open.  I hope she stays as active when she gets older!

One Nation Under God....

We were very happy that the 4th of July fell on a Monday because that meant a 3-DAY WEEKEND!  We decided to take the boat to Nolin and spend the weekend at the lake with family, which meant another weekend traveling!  At least the trip to the lake only takes 2 hours so it wasn’t too bad.
We left Saturday morning and arrived at the lake at around noon.  My grandparents were already there and later Jackie and Lois and Brittany, Luke, and Tucker arrived.  Then came my mom, Lyndi, Randy, Katie Belle, Connor, Ann, Jason, Riley, and Jacob.
We had a great time and had lots of fun on the boat, on the tube, in the water, and in the cabin playing cards.  We stayed up late every night playing Rook and it was so much fun.

Bottomless pit...

We didn’t have a big crowd down for the weekend but it was a great time anyway.
Addison loved the lake and even got to ride in the tube for the first time.  We went to the beach and swam and of course made a trip to the candy dock!  We always have big breakfasts while at the lake and always eat too much!
We came home Monday afternoon just in time to unpack, shower, and head back out to RJ Corman’s 4th of July Celebration!  Here are some pictures from that.  Nick was leaving for Boot Camp the next day so he was pretty emotional as were a lot of the rest of us!  We are very proud of Nick and the decision he made to serve our great county and how appropriate that he leave the day after Independence Day.  I am so thankful to all of the men and women who serve in military.  God Bless the USA!

We LOVE <3 you NICK!
