Snow Day!

The month of January has been cold and snowy and cold!  The temps have dropped into the negatives and we have seen more instances of snow than I can remember in several years.  When the temperature wasn’t too low, we tried to take advantage of the snow.
We hopped the fence behind our house and took advantage of the huge hill covered in snow.  The cows and donkeys seemed to enjoy watching the kids sledding.  Some of the cows even gathered around the sled at one point while we were admiring the partly frozen creek.

Swimming & Tubing in January!

On a whim one weekend, we decided to head North to Cincinnati with the Cissell’s and the Mastin’s to stay in a hotel with an indoor pool and then take the kids snow tubing the next day.
The Cissell’s found a very nice hotel with adjoining rooms and an indoor pool and the kids had a blast.  After swimming until about 9 PM Saturday night, we took them up to the rooms, got them bathed and put them in a bed together to watch a movie while the adults stayed up too late playing Polish Poker.
The next morning, we packed up and put on lots of layers and headed to Perfect North.  The weather was perfect and it wasn’t too terribly crowded.  Since Lyndi was pregnant and couldn’t tube, she was our photographer.
The kids loved it!  There were 10 of us tubing and we went down the slopes several times with all 10 tubes connected.  So much fun!
We can’t wait to go back again.
