And with a blink of an eye, September has passed...

Well another month blurred past so I am going to have to just make this one big post of some of the September highlights.  School is going great for Addison and she continues to love it.  I have a few more pictures that I took before a few school days.  I also have taken some pictures of some of the cute projects she has done at school and brought home.  I just want to KEEP all of them. Along with what she is learning at school where they focus on certain letters of the alphabet, we have been working on stuff at home too.  She is doing exceptionally well with recognizing and even writing most letters.  We work on letters outside a lot using sidewalk chalk!!

During September she brought home the snack box which meant we were asked to provide snack for the following school day.  They suggest that unless it is a birthday or something that you send something somewhat healthy.  We chose snack baggies filled with cheese nips, pretzel squares, teddy grahams, and a few marshmallows.  It was fun to make those together for her class.  During September, she also brought home the share bag which meant she got to take one toy to school to share with the class.  She chose the princess wand that she had recently got (at the Jessamine Jamboree) that lights up and makes sounds and has this little ball on the end that spins.  She loves it.  She also brought home, the class fish (which is a plush animal) named Joy.  Along with this came home a notebook where the parent writes of the child's experience playing with the fish and takes a picture of the child with the fish and tapes it in the notebook and then returns it all the next school day.

Another cute thing to note about the kids going to school is that Connor has INSISTED that he wear one of his Little Elks t-shirts every day to school.  Lyndi had to buy him another shirt so that she was wasn't washing the same one every day!  LOL.  I had bought Addi a red t-shirt and she REFUSES to wear hers insisting that everyone will think she's a boy if she wears it so we ended up giving Connor our red one after multiple attempts of me trying to get her to wear it!  So Connor now has 3 Little Elks t-shirts and has worn one of them EVERY.SINGLE. DAY of school since it started.  So funny!

Unfortunately, we didn't get to take a trip to Nolin Lake like we normally do for Labor Day weekend due to there being a blue algae caution there.  The Core of Engineers were just advising that young children and small animals stay out of the water because if small children or animals drank the water, it could be very harmful. Unfortunately, Addi always at one point ends up with a mouthful of water at the lake and so we weren't comfortable risking it.  Herrington Lake, however, didn't have that problem so we spent a day on the lake and it was so fun.  Katie Belle decided to give skiing a try and we were super proud of her for trying even though she never made it up.  She was a trooper though and without a doubt, she will be skiing in the near future!

Addi was excited and ready to get out the fall decor (and so was momma) so we decorated the inside and outside pretty early this year.  It is so much fun to get to decorate together.  She is definitely my big helper and has an opinion about everything and I love it!  I told her my two scarecrows on the porch are my baby girl and baby boy!

Austin got the lead male role in a production at Lexington Children's Theatre.  It was called Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse and it was based on the children's books by Kevin Henke.  To say it was adorable is an understatement.  We LOVED it and Addi and I actually went to it twice--Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.  Most of the family went with us Saturday night to see it including my parents, my in-laws, Lyndi and Katie, and of course Craig and Addison.  Afterwards, some of us went to Sonic for a late night snack and milkshake!

Austin made Homecoming Court again for his Senior year--such an honor.  He wasn't crowned King but he was thrilled to be voted on the court along with 4 other guys and 5 girls by his class.  He escorted Allison who was his date to prom.  They looked so wonderful.

The last weekend in September, Addi and I rode up to Louisville Saturday morning with Lyndi and Katie and Connor to spend the day with family and we had the best time.  It was great for Addi, Kate, and Connor to get to play with cousins that they don't get to see often--Hunter, Luke, and Tucker and Lilly and get to see GG and Uncle Jackie and Aunt Lois and Brent and Sara and Kenton and Brittany and Uncle David and Lauren! We barely missed getting to see Monica and Madison but hopefully we will catch up with them soon.  The kids rode bikes, jumped on the trampoline, took a golf cart ride to the ice cream store with Brent and Kenton, and played and played and played.  It truly was a great day!  From Louisville, we went to Bardstown for a surprise 60th birthday for my Uncle Dale.  We had a lot of fun there too and the kids had more fun playing with more cousins.  We are so blessed with so many cousins--there were truly kids everywhere.  It was so fun.  I got to cuddle with my newest 2nd cousin who is my cousin Matthew and his wife Katie's little 6 month old boy.  He is so sweet!  I didn't do a good job at all taking pictures at either place--guess I was too busy playing and talking!  It was a very good time though.

I am just gonna throw in a few more random pictures that I had taken in September including the one where Addi is brushing her teeth and leaning over the sink to spit out toothpaste.  I just thought it was cute and funny!

Also in September Austin had his senior pictures done which were AMAZING and will their own post!

And I was told by my niece Katie Belle (via an ultrasound picture) that I am going to be an aunt again!  That's right, my sis is prego with baby number THREE!  Yipee!
