We celebrated Thanksgiving this year in my parent's new house. They had only been in it for a couple of weeks but they had it organized enough to have us all over for a wonderful meal. It was nice to have my dad's parents and sister in for Thanksgiving this year and we had SO MUCH FOOD.
I actually didn't take any pictures this year--guess I was too busy helping to get everything ready and then cleaning up afterwards.
We had a great time though and everything was delicious.
We normally eat with my family at noon and then eat again at dinner time with Craig's family but this year, Craig's mom decided not to do a big meal since his sister's family was out of town for Thanksgiving. So we only had to eat (until we were miserable) once this year.
After eating at mom's and then hanging out for a while, we stopped by Craig's parents house just to hang out and visit.
We got home and I got Addi bathed and to bed and then Austin and I left to pick up Lyndi and Ann--let the Black Friday Shopping begin! A lot of the stores (sadly) were opening at 8 PM on Thanksgving night but it was around 10 when we left. We hit Walmart, Target, and then the mall and were home by 2:30 AM. While none of us were "on the hunt" for anything too specific, we definitely found some bargains and were in agreement that it was a worthwhile adventure--and a lot of fun too!
After getting a few hours of sleep, we began dragging out the Christmas decorations. It has become a tradition in our household to decorate the tree the day after Thanksgiving.
After getting the tree done, Craig hung some lights outside too!
This year, Addi got her own little pink tree with pink lights! She loves it and decorated it all by herself!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

Potty Training Update...
Well this has gone WAY better than I ever imagined! We have come a long way from my first post a few weeks ago where she seemed terrified as I sat her on the potty screaming!
I can say with confidence that my baby girl is COMPLETELY potty trained! And honestly, through this whole process, she has only had ONE accident and that was simply because she was playing so hard with her cousins that I think she forgot that she wasn't wearing a diaper. She still wears diapers at night (she refuses to wear pull-ups) but there are a lot of mornings where she wakes up dry and as soon as she wakes up, she wants that diaper OFF.
In the first few weeks, she was adament about asking for a diaper to go #2 but even that has stopped now and the ONLY time that she wears a diaper is at bedtime.
She doesn't really need any assistance with getting her pants/panties up and down but she normally asks for someone to go with her when she needs to go which I prefer anyway. And she is using the big potty instead of the little one too. She just hops right up there easily--another advantage to being so tall! She will say, "I don't cry, do I momma? It's easy-peasy!"
While I am so ecstatic that she has overcome the potty-training challenge, it's yet another reminder that I no longer have a baby. Sometimes I just want to pick her up and cradle her and rock her, and those long legs just get in the way! I'm proud of this little accomplishment and the sweet little mannered toddler that she has turned into--overnight it seems!
I love you big girl!

Sweetness...
Just a couple of pictures of sweetness in November... Addi wearing some fuzzy snowman pajamas and working a puzzle with Daddy while sporting a teeny tiny ponytail!

Boyd's Orchard 2012
We made it to the pumpkin patch this year even though we were a few weeks later than usual! Thankfully, we had an unusually warm Saturday in November so that we could squeeze the trip in! Austin normally goes with us but this year he had to work so it was just Addi and me along with Lyndi and her kids. The kids had a blast! We almost had the place to ourselves (I guess everyone else had already been)!
We played on the playground, climbed haybales, fed the goats, went on a hayride, played in the sand, and ate lunch there. We were actually there almost 3 hours. Thankfully it was a short drive home because Connor and Addi were so ready for naps after all that playing!
It was a great day! I'm so glad we were able to get a nice day so that we could go this year!

Halloween 2012..
This was the coldest Halloween I remember having in several years but despite the cough and freezing temperatures, we braved the cold long enough to get this sweet butterfly, dragon, and giraffe plenty of candy! After trick-or-treating, we headed to Jessamine Christian where mom and dad go to church for Trunk or Treat.
The kids were so cute and funny because we made sure we went over the rules of going up to the doors and saying "Trick or Treat" and then saying "Thank You" after they received candy! Addi would get her candy and say "thank you" and then run towards me saying, "Mommy, I said thank you." The people handing out candy were getting a kick out of it!
We also had a neighborhood fall festival which was inside a big garage so that gave the kids another opportunity to wear their costumes!
