Walt Disney World - Day 3

We were all really excited about Day 3--we had saved the Magic Kingdom for our last two days at the parks!  We got up early so that we could get to the park when it opened!  We did our normal routine of going to the food court at Pop Century for breakfast and then loaded up in the rental car and headed to the Magic Kingdom.  We took the Monorail into the Magic Kingdom which was very nice to not have to walk since we I packed a lot (you have to be prepared for anything).

It truly was magical.  There were character meet and greets EVERYWHERE and Addi was in awe of everything.  Again, I am ecstatic that we took this trip and will never doubt that she was the PERFECT age for a first trip to Disney.

The day was packed with lots of good stuff!  We had fast passes for Peter Pan's Flight at 10:35, Seven Dwarf's Mine Train at 11:50, and a meet/greet with Anna and Elsa at 2:10.  Addi also had an appointment at the Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique at 1 PM where the plan was to get all dolled up like a princess before she met Anna and Elsa.  My planning was ridiculously detailed!  Too bad things didn't work out exactly how I'd planned!  By that, I just mean that we got to the Boutique excited about our little princess becoming a little princess.  She had seemed excited too but as soon as we walked inside the castle to go inside the BBB, her demeanor changed a little bit.  She seemed a little scared.  She immediately asked me if she could wipe off the make-up and take her hair down after it was over.  I told her that they weren't going to put very much make-up on her (mainly glitter) and that her hair would just be in a simple bun but she still seemed very timid about it.  I certainly didn't want to spend that kind of money on something that she was feeling uncomfortable about.  She even started to cry a little so I talked to the lady at the counter who was super understanding (as are all the employees at Disney) and she told me that it was no problem and that we wouldn't have to pay for anything.  They even offered to sprinkle a little fairy dust over her for luck for the rest of the day. She liked that and we were on our way out.  I was a little sad just because I had heard so many good things about this place and just wanted it to be such a fun memory for her but in the end, she decided against it so that's okay too!  Maybe next time, right?  I have to say, Craig wasn't disappointed at all--he was happy to save a little money somewhere!

We ate lunch at Cosmic Rays that day and we all had cheeseburgers and fries and of course dessert (since it was included with the meal plan).  The food was average, definitely not $63 worth which is what it would have cost without the meal plan!

At 3:00 that day, the streets were lined with people anticipating the parade.  We got a pretty good spot in front of the castle and Craig put Addi on his shoulders.  The parade was AWESOME.  Disney definitely knows how to put on a parade.  Actually, Disney knows how to do EVERYTHING.

Even though I had a touring plan that gave me the ideal times to ride certain things (in order to avoid long lines), we really kind of rode things as we came to them unless we had a fast pass for them.  I will say this again--going in January was FABULOUS as far as having minimal waiting in lines. Other then Snow White's Mine Train (which maintained about a 60+ minute wait throughout the day) and the meet and greet for Anna and Elsa (about 60+ minutes most of the day), the lines weren't bad. Thankfully we used our fast pass for Mine Train and after riding it, there is NO WAY that I would wait any longer than like 15-20 minutes to ride it.  It was a cool ride but VERY SHORT.  It seemed like we were on it for less than a minute!  It was a roller coaster and Addi loved it but just too short. Thankfully we also had a fast pass for meet and greet Anna and Elsa because that line was long but with a fast pass, we maybe waited 5 minutes.  That idea is GENIUS!  Addi of course loved getting to meet them and she was completely enamored!

We also rode It's a Small World 3 times.  That was my favorite ride as a child and Addi loved it too (hence the reason we rode it 3 times) and it was also nice that the wait was only about 2 minutes. After riding so many newer rides though, it is crazy how out-of-date that ride is.  Of course children don't notice that though!  Addison's favorite ride of all the rides we rode on this trip was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad which is a roller coaster.  We rode that one twice that day! We also rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin which was fun, Dumbo the Flying Elephant 2 times, Mad Tea Party several times (Austin and I sat that one out because neither of us can take the spinning but Craig and Addi loved it), and Mickey's Philharmagic Show which was a 3-D show that was very entertaining.  We also used our fast pass to ride Peter Pan's Flight which was cool, Barnstormer (which is a junior coaster that she enjoyed), Peoplemover (which is a dumb ride that is a waste of space), and the Little Mermaid Ride which was really cute. She also rode Prince Charming's Royal Carousel about 3-4 times.  Apparently carousels never get old!

She also met and got autographs from quite a few characters at Magic Kingdom including Alice in Wonderland and the White Rabbit, Anna and Elsa, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Ariel.

We left the Park completely exhausted around 7 that day and barely got out of the parking lot and Addi was asleep!  We ended up going to an Olive Garden there in Orlando and stopping at a souvenir shop afterwards to pick up a few things before getting back to the hotel and showering and then collapsing into our beds!

Here goes the overload of pictures--these are from 3 different sources - iphones, camera, and Disney Photo Pass photographers!
