Just being a kid....
Addison has an intense love for picking flowers (and weeds) for me and it melts my heart. I am forever putting bouquets of clover or any other "beautiful flower" that she picks in vases for display on the kitchen counter. I know she won't always want to pick flowers for mommy but I am certainly loving it while it lasts.

Austin's Senior Trip to NYC!
Austin got to go to NYC for the first time ever with some of his friends from high school this year. He and about 65 other seniors took dulexe motor coach buses to the Big City!
The list of things that they got to do was exhausting and he had a great time. They went to Times Square, the 9/11 Memorial, took a double decker bus tour of the city, went to a Broadway show (Chicago), ate at Hard Rock, went to the Today show (where he got on the front row and even had his picture taken with Matt Lauer), took a dinner/dance cruise around New York Harbor, went to the Statue of Liberty, Metropolitan Museum of Art, rode the subway, went to Radio City Music Hall, and went to St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Disney on Ice...
For the second year in a row, Lyndi and I took our girls to Rupp Arena to see Disney on Ice. We make it a girl's night out and let the girls get all glammed up and then we go to dinner and then to Triangle Park for pictures and then on to the show. The girls were so excited and we all had a great time. We went to O'Charley's for dinner and then took lots of pictures in front of the fountains at Triangle Park.
Once the show started, Addison was so funny. She was so excited to see the Disney characters and Princesses come out on the ice. She was waving furvishly as if they could actually see her. It was definitely fun to just watch the excitement on her face. It was confirmation to me that a trip to Disney World is in our very near future (hopefully January 2015).
Katie, on the other hand, enjoyed it but wasn't as enthusiastic about seeing the characters as Addi was. They both however loved the $14 icee (Katie) and $12 cotton candy (Addi).
It was a very fun night with our little princesses!

Easter 2014
Dying Easter eggs is always lots of fun! Little Miss Independent did most all of the work this year and made some beautiful colored eggs and completed them with Easter stickers! Such artwork!
Addison had her Easter party at school on Good Friday. Toward the end of the day, parents were invited to come and watch the hunt for Easter eggs outside. It was so fun to see her interacting with all of her little friends at school! The Easter Bunny himself even showed up!

Lyndi and Randy had their annual Easter Egg Hunt at their house. As always, it was lots of fun and the kids had fun hunting for over 500 candy-filled eggs!
Easter morning came and Addi was so excited once she woke up and realized that it was Easter. We spent about an hour sitting in her room going through her Easter basket! So fun!
We went to church with the Vahle's and then had a wonderful Easter lunch at my sister's with all of our family. That evening we had Easter dinner at Craig's mom's house.
It was a wonderful Easter.
